However, over the holidays the awesome folks at Misikko contacted me asking me if I wanted to review their award-winning HANAair hairdryer. Since I was actually on the market for a new dryer for what seems like forever, I enthusiastically jumped on this opportunity, secretly hoping that this HANA thing doesn't suck.
The box the dryer arrived in was slick and pretty and I'm a sucker for beautiful packaging, so bonus points to HANA for first a great first impression. Misikko also threw in a "few" awesome extras, which I look forward to trying soon.
When I removed the dryer from the box, I noticed that it was quite a bit heavier than the dryer I've been using. I couldn't decide whether to be concerned about my arms getting tired while drying my hair or to be excited about the possibility of getting ridiculous biceps in the process. I decided biceps win.
I have now had a chance to use this dryer several times and one thing I can tell you is that it wins the shit out of my 10-year old piece of crap Conair dryer from Costco. Since the first time I used it, I was absolutely blown away by its awesomeness (blown away, ha!), even despite the weight concerns. To be honest, I didn't even notice the extra weight while using it, so I guess no bulging muscles for me.
This thing packs 2300 Watts of seriously power for its size, which significantly reduced the drying time. In fact, this damn thing is so powerful it blew my hand mirror right off the counter. Take that, old Costco dryer!

The only other drawback besides the weight is the length of the the cord - at 12' long, it drove me absolutely crazy, especially in my tiny condo bathroom. On the plus side, I can now dry my hair while watching The Real Housewives in the living room, so there's that.
And because I'm an engineer and I love me some specs, here's some additional info about the dryer:
- Professional grade hair dryer
- Adjustable heat: 2 fan speeds, 3 heat settings, cold shot
- Ceramic heater: most advanced far infrared ionic heat
- Tourmaline, titanium oxide and silver infused: pure tourmaline crystals add antibacterial ions and shine
- 2300 Watts, like whoa!
- Made in Italy
Requisite disclaimer: The hair dryer was sent to me by the lovely people over at Misikko, whose awesomeness did not influence my opinions.
About the company: Misikko.com is devoted to your hair and specializes in salon-grade flat irons (including everyone's favorite Chi Straighteners) and professional hair dryers. To learn more about HANA products, click here.

Your hair looks amazing, I love the fiery highlights! Ya know I just might spend $50 on a dryer if I loved it. Nice review.
I'm pretty much obsessed with this hair dryer based on the reviews I have seen. I wish I was a cool internet blogger that got to review it...because it seems like so many people have. LUCKIES. I always buy cheap hair dryers... if this would last it might be worth the price.
Your hair looks fabulous!!!!
Well here's proof these reviews work--I just bought mine! Thanks for the great pics and info!
To be honest, I'm not quite sure how I got lucky with this either. I know people like Shasta reviewed it, which makes sense because she has eleventy billion followers. Any reviews I was contacted about previously were totally random and borderline spam, but I'm glad I got to do this one, it was a lot of fun.
That's awesome, I'm so excited for you! I hope you love it as much as I do!
We have one of these and LOVE it!!! Did a review and everything! Like you we were worried that it wouldn't be anything special but it is AMAZING!! Mendi and I are sharing it until we can buy one!
Your hair looks gorgeous!!
